MMID used HoloPro's patented Holographic Projection Screen technology to bring Michael Cusack to life in the Classroom part of the Michael Cusack Centre in Co. Clare. A special photographic film is illuminated with a laser beam and a single hologram, also called a holographic optical element (HOE), is formed. A HoloPro screen consists of many thousands of such HOEs and none is identical with any other on the screen. Though they all look alike, each one of them contains different information, namely from which angle the light is redirected to the viewer. Consequently, the light of the projector is optimally redirected from many thousands of spots. This is the first time this technology has been used in a visitor centre in Ireland and the result is simply stunning.
